Opus 5.5 solved the Rubik's Cube in 3 steps, 1 minute 12.87 seconds.
In this kind of competition, the number of steps is much better than the number of seconds. AshutoshShrivastava ran four models against the same set of limits: 20 steps or 5 minutes, with each step equaling one API call. GPT-6 Sol takes the wrong step in the first step and times out after 4 steps; Jev uses up 20 steps in 20 seconds; Laya is faster, taking 20 steps in 9.5 seconds. Neither has been restored.
Since everyone is getting involved, we agree: it's a banger, the motion design of Opus 5.5.
